Word Choice Posters - Dead Word of The Week Interactive Classroom Bulletin Board
How This Word Choice Posters and Activity Resource Works:
Every week, introduce one of the 40 dead words to your students and add one of the ready-made posters to your classroom wall! You can choose to use the posters with the synonyms already suggested or make it an interactive activity by using the blank version. Using the blank pages, you can discuss the word as a class and have students work together to find stronger synonyms they could use for the word.
Included in this Word Choice Posters and Activity Resource:
➡️ Dead Word of the Week Title Poster: Use this eye-catching title poster that reads, "Dead Word of the Week" to display the weekly posters underneath.
➡️ 40 Dead Word Posters with Synonyms: Included is a collection of 40 Dead Word posters, each paired with eight stronger synonyms. Show students strong alternatives to common, weak words, allowing them to make stronger word choices in their own writing with these visual reminders.
➡️ Blank Version: Featuring eight blank spaces, this version of the posters empowers students to discover and insert their own synonyms each week, promoting a personalized approach to expanding their vocabulary.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This resource is brilliant. I am building a graveyard where all the dead word headstones will gather. These are the words that they can no longer use in their assignments. If they do, they will be docked points. I love how interactive and fun this makes English.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Love this resource. I look forward to creating a bulletin board with this on it to help students expand their vocabulary. Thank you!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So cute and fun! My students look forward to seeing which word will be dead next. We make it a whole thing on Mondays - with sad music and all.
