To Kill A Mockingbird Activity Tom Robinson Trial Role Play - Transport your students into Tom Robinson's trial in the novel by Harper Lee with this interactive class role-playTo Kill A Mockingbird activity.

Reading about the trial for the first time can be a little confusing for students, so this resource has everything you need to easily set up a classroom role-play of the trial of Tom Robinson to help students understand exactly what happened within the courtroom. Students will be able to put themselves in the characters' shoes (a main theme in the novel!) and also have a stronger understanding of the process of the trial.

Included In This To Kill A Mockingbird Activity:

➡️ Teacher Instructions: A detailed overview of the activity that will enable you to be well-prepared to make the most of this fun and educational activity.

➡️ Character Name Tags: You can print these name tags out on stock paper and attach a string for students to put them around their necks. These name tags will identify the roles students are playing not only for each other (to minimize confusion) but for any spectators you invite in to watch the roleplay.

➡️ Maycomb County Courthouse Poster: You can print out this poster and put it on your classroom door or in a visible place in your room to welcome students to the activity and help them get into it.

➡️ Role Play Scripts: 8 different scripts. Each script is a section of the complete trial which allows all members of the class to participate in the role play. How you assign the roles is up to you, but in the instructions, there are suggestions for how to do this depending on your class size.

Simply put students in groups, print the scripts and they are ready to rehearse! The scripts were designed using the specific content and dialogue from the novel, but have been edited slightly to be appropriate for the classroom setting.
