Christmas Parts of Speech Activity - Rewriting Holiday Carols Song Lyrics Remix: Use this fun music-related activity with your students around the holidays as a way to practice some of the parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective, and interjection) while also getting your students laughing! Students fill in three pages with an appropriate word or part of speech without knowing the Christmas carol. Then, they will add the words into a ready-made template with the lyrics to Deck The Halls, Jingle Bells, and Walking in a Winter Wonderland. The songs are meant to come out silly and nonsensical. Have students work with a partner and encourage the pairs to sing their original remix to the rest of the class!
Included In This Christmas Parts of Speech Activity:
➡️ 3 Holiday Song Remix Sheets: Students will use the three half-page sheets to fill in their words and parts of speech. You can encourage students to be as silly or creative as they want to be, as long as they use the correct parts of speech.
➡️ 3 Christmas Carols Lyrics Templates: Students can easily transfer their words from the three remix sheets to the included three Christmas lyrics templates for Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, and Walking in a Winter Wonderland. Once they have their remixed song, they can read (or sing!) their new original lyrics to the class. This activity is both fun and good practice for students to remember the different parts of speech.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a fantastic idea! I have one class in particular that is really picky about what they sing- I'm looking forward to having them write parodies of Christmas songs for our concert so they have a little more ownership of our repertoire.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So awesome! Turned out hilarious! Thanks!
