Hamlet Project - Newspaper Assignment is a fun and creative assignment where students will be given the opportunity to create a newspaper called "The Denmark Times", in which they act as journalists living in Hamlet's world. This project would be an excellent final assessment for a unit on the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, with the bonus of exposing students to some of the skills and terms used in journalism. This ready-to-use resource includes a PowerPoint presentation outlining the project, worksheets, and a template for the newspaper.
Included In The Hamlet Project:
➡️ Hamlet Newspaper Project Introductory Presentation: This 15-slide PowerPoint presentation will introduce students to the project by sharing how to write for a newspaper, information on each of the columns students are required to write, and final product requirements.
➡️ Hamlet Newspaper Project Student Handout and Organizers: These graphic organizers will engage students in the pre-writing process and prepare them to create a fun and interesting newspaper! Included is a handout with all of the project information; pre-writing activities for a headline story, an obituary, a special interview, an advice column, and a life and times section
➡️ Blank Newspaper Templates: Once students have completed their pre-writing planning, they can use these blank templates to format their articles, and can choose which pages best fit their needs (or they can choose to do it all themselves and not use the templates).
